2026’s theme is “Intervalles”. 

Objects are fixed, decided things. Intervals are the space between, representing openness and the possibility of connection. Intervals are alive spaces, inviting people towards the creation of relationships, synergies, and ideas that none of them could have made alone.

At Feu au Lac 2026, we seek not only to create art, but to bring about encounters—even brief, even ephemeral ones, because they are what transform us.

No kids at Feu au Lac 2026?

Kids have brought their unique energy to a number of Feu au Lac editions over the years, and we’ve always been happy to welcome them. Several active members of our org team are parents themselves. Yet this year, we made the difficult decision not to welcome participants under 18 at Feu au Lac 2026. We’ve since received a number of questions about why.

So here are the two main reasons behind this decision:

First, our 2026 site is significantly smaller than in previous years. Most activities will take place in and around a single building, with very little room to spread out. In practice, this would make it much harder to create an environment where the needs and activities of both younger and older participants can happily coexist.

Second, no one stepped forward to take on the Family Lead role we created this year. We’ve learned from experience that welcoming children well takes more than simply allowing them to attend. It requires dedicated attention and coordination, and with an organising team already stretched pretty thin, we didn’t feel we could do that well this year.
Rather than do it halfway, we’ve chosen to pause welcoming kids this year and hope to welcome families again in future editions, once we have the right conditions in place to do it well.
